Conway Regional Scholarships

Each spring, the Foundation awards scholarships to area students who are currently enrolled, or beginning their education, in a health related career field. Applicants must be studying one of the following on a full-time basis: medicine, nursing, laboratory/research, radiology, physical therapy, speech therapy, surgical technology, dentistry, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, medical information, or another health related field.

Dr. William Furlow Medical Staff Scholarship Fund
A scholarship is available annually as funding provides. All area students currently enrolled or beginning their education in a health related career field are invited to apply. This scholarship was established to honor Dr. Furlow upon his retirement, and is funded annually, by the Conway Regional Medical Staff to assist area students in pursuing a career in the field of medicine.

Dr. Bill & Betty Roberts Medical Staff Scholarship Fund
A scholarship is available annually as funding provides. All area students currently enrolled or beginning their education in a health related career field are invited to apply. This scholarship was established to honor Dr. Bill Roberts upon his retirement. During his time as a physician, Dr. Roberts was known for his quality patient care and passion for lifelong learning. Apart from his medical practice, Dr. Roberts has served his community in a multitude of ways.

Conway Regional Medical Staff Scholarship Fund
A scholarship is available annually as funding provides. All area studentscurrently enrolled or beginning their education in a health-relatedcareer field are invited to apply. These scholarships were established, and are funded annually, by the Conway Regional Medical Staff to assist area students in pursuing a career in the field of medicine.

Dr. James S. Garrison Endowed Scholarship Fund
Scholarships are available annually as funding provides. All area students currently enrolled or beginning their education in a health related career field are invited to apply. This fund was established to pay tribute to Dr. James S. Garrison and his 24 years of service and dedication to health care in the central Arkansas area. As the first full-time radiologist at Conway Regional, Dr. Garrison helped build the radiology department from a single x-ray room to a multi-unit department offering the latest in diagnostic services. Dr. Garrison dedicated his career to healing the bodies and minds of his countless patients and friends.

Janice and John Robbins Endowed Scholarship Fund
A scholarship is available annually as funding provides. This fund was established in 2007 by the Conway Regional Women’s Council to honor John Robbins and his wife, Janice, upon his retirement as Conway Regional’s President and CEO. The Women’s Council was established in 2001 and was the vision of John who recruited his wife, Janice, to serve as its first President. Since that time, the Women’s Council has grown into a dynamic group of more than 150 women working to improve women’s health in the community and raise funds for Conway Regional through Dazzle Daze, an annual holiday shopping extravaganza. It is hoped this scholarship will honor the Robbins’ vision and their unwavering commitment to education in the health field.

Conway Regional Health Foundation Scholarship
Scholarships are available annually as funding provides. Funded by Conway Regional Health Foundation fundraising events. All area students currently enrolled or beginning their education in a health-related career field are invited to apply.

Standridge Family Tribute Tree Scholarship
A scholarship funded by the Standridge family with the aid of 10 Evergreen Tribute Tree gifts. The Standridge Family Tribute Tree Scholarship aims to empower healthcare students, honoring the family's legacy and the donors who contribute through the Tribute Tree. This scholarship aids graduate or undergraduate full-time students accepted or enrolled in their professional healthcare curriculum.

Dot Welch Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2022 by friends, family, and coworkers in memory of Dot Welch. Through her work at the Conway Regional Health Foundation, many were touched by Dot's thoughtfulness, leadership, and passion. We are pleased to honor her legacy through this scholarship.This scholarship aids students currently enrolled in health-related career field.

Employee Scholarships

The following scholarships are available for Conway Regional employees or family members.

Conway Regional Health Foundation Nursing Scholarship Fund
Scholarships are available annually as funding provides. This fund was established to aid a Conway Regional Health System employee, or family member of an employee, pursuing a degree or certificate in nursing from an accredited nursing institution.

Eleanor Duncan Endowed Nursing Scholarship Fund
A scholarship is available annually as funding provides. This scholarship was established in 2002 in memory of Eleanor Duncan by Conway Regional Health System oncology nurses to assist a Conway Regional Health System employee, or family member of an employee, pursuing a career in oncology nursing.

Michael Wood, MD Endowed Scholarship Fund
A scholarship is available annually as funding provides. Established in 2022, patients, friends, and family of Dr. Michael Wood endowed a scholarship in his honor to recognize Dr. Wood for more than 29 years of caring for his patients and community. The fully endowed scholarship was presented to Dr. Wood at a reception and dinner held on June 20, 2022. Students must be a resident of Arkansas, attending the University of Central Arkansas, a Conway Regional Employee or child of a Conway Regional Employee, and pursuing a degree in pre-medicine, nursing, occupational therapy or physical therapy.
