The community is invited to participate in our annual Memorial Day Parade. The parade will begin promptly at 2:00 PM on S. Main Street and proceed to Wade Field for a brief ceremony. It is a walking parade, with the exception of military vehicles. Groups and individuals interested in joining the parade should meet at the alley and parking lot near Jonathan Wright School at 1:30 p.m. to let the Parade Marshal know you are participating. Complimentary food and refreshments are available following the ceremony in the Springboro Intermediate School cafeteria adjacent to the field.

He served the City of Franklin on many boards and commissions including City Council and as Mayor. He was a proud Army veteran and was dedicated to honoring and serving his fellow veterans. The Memorial Day parade in Franklin was organized and executed by Jim for over 45 years before his passing. The City of Franklin is undoubtedly a better place because of Jim's passionate service to our community. For these reasons, from the years 2024 to 2034, the Memorial Day Parade shall be known as The Jim Mears Memorial Day Parade.
